I just want to point out, this is genetic

Love Advice from my Great-Aunt Barbara (Who isn't LDS, for whatever that means)

11:24pmBarbara

Give her something you treasure, but that isn't of great monetary value. Something that she knows you'll return to claim....along with her?

Give her a poem that talks about your quest for Sweet Williams......it's the thought that counts. Flowers die, sentiment lives forever!

Oh Aunt Barbara, I do think I've given you the wrong impression. I don't think this girl is particularly into me as of yet.

11:26pmBarbara

I'm not sure I trust your judgment...you're just a guy!

11:26pmWilliam

oh, I promise

11:27pmBarbara

......your mother was young when she started plotting to snag your father!

11:27pmWilliam

she is currently playing with another boy, and frankly, he has the advantage of being around, as he's already gone on his mission

11:27pmBarbara

Good men are hard to find. I don't care if a bird in the hand is better.....the bird can also poop in your hand!

11:28pmWilliam

hahahahaha

that's brilliant

It's as much for me as it is for her. I've known since I was 12 that one day, when I found a particularly wonderful girl, I would buy her Sweet Williams

11:29pmBarbara

As I said, a good man is hard to find. And, leaving someone "wanting" is a very seductive achievement.

How about a packet of seeds....that can grow into something with time and nurturing? Oh....this is sounding good.

11:30pmWilliam

hahahaha

I'm charming, and clever, and somewhat suave, but that seems a little premature for this one

11:31pmBarbara

Well....save the Sweet Williams then, and just drive the poor woman crazy.

11:31pmWilliam

I'm not in a position to be asking her to wait yet

sorry I meant "To Wait", the technical term

11:31pmBarbara

And, is she in a position to make a decision to rush forward with a life commitment?

11:32pmWilliam

actually, yeah

haha

there is some pressure coming from her family on that one

11:32pmBarbara

How old is she?

(Long Chat about me and older women...)

http-equiv="CONTENT-TYPE" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> name="GENERATOR" content="OpenOffice.org 3.0 (Win32)">

William: but I only have one shot to try and guarantee she'll even be an option when I get home ;);)

11:37pmBarbara

Only one? You can put a packet of "something" together with dates when each is to be opened while you are gone. You'll either be a hero, or receive sympathy from everyone when you get home!

11:37pmWilliam

haha I have a week before I may never see her again!

11:39pmBarbara

Have you thought about asking her directly how she feels? For goodness sake, if she dumps on you you're going to have two years in the jungle to get over it! How mean can a nice Mormon girl be?

11:40pmWilliam

Okay, I'm not super dramatic...

but I protest, her frown might kill me

11:42pmBarbara

Ha! If you're not super dramatic, we need a new definition of what that is! Yes, a frown might very well kill you....that's what separates the men from the boys. You're stepping into manhood now.....and she'll want a man to lead her.

http-equiv="CONTENT-TYPE" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"> name="GENERATOR" content="OpenOffice.org 3.0 (Win32)">

11:44pmBarbara

Be the man......

11:45pmWilliam

I don't doubt the subject will come up, but I'd like to have flowers waiting in the wings :P:P

11:46pmBarbara

Now you make me laugh.......be the flowers. Be what makes her weak for your strength. You don't need a prop.

I want to tell you something, but it's so much easier to be brave when you are not around. I think that's why I like you. In fact, I'm sure.
I first noticed you during Christmas Around the World. How I went a semester without seeing this at first is beyond me. Every time we performed, you winked at me going around that circle. I would see you for a second, you would wink, and then disappear. I never hit that step. My knees would get really weak, even though my heart would feel strong enough to burst out of my chest.
I want your attention more then any girl's I can ever remember.
Little things you do change my whole day. When you asked to be my navigator, I wore the biggest smile I own. I have a guess you knew that would happen. When I couldn't seem to get you to look at me at church, I can't remember being more distraught. I have a guess you knew that would happen.
I'm glad you enjoyed the flowers I got you. I don't know where I found the courage to do that, but I liked doing it, and kind of really want to do it again. I leave in a week, so it would have to be soon.
In a week, I may never see you again. When you were driving with me, you made a joke about "our children" in the backseat. First of all, please don't do that. Except all the time. Second, I realized something. I saw a picture in my head. You were sitting on the end of a bed, with your daughter. You were brushing her hair. She was beautiful, too. She was just starting high school, and was starting to ask about boys. She wanted to hear stories about when you dating. I hope to be one of those stories.

I'm tired...

Tired of feeling like nothing I do now influences the future.
Tired of feeling really brave and then really weak.
Tired of writing out my heart and it going nowhere.

The Question Arises...

how exactly do I want you to see me. I think that answer is simple. I want you to see my intentions as noble and gallant. I wish to be remembered as rash in pursuit of things beautiful and lovely.

Dear Xanga,

I have such beautiful things to say, and it seems no one wants to hear them.
